PDR – SWOT Analysis

SWOT is the acronym is an industry (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats). It is an ideal way to visually brainstorm ideas and compare all for strategic planning and action. On its own SWOT is useless, you need to have an action plan to address weaknesses and threats to protect your business and its future. So what if we do a SWOT analysis of PDR generally. Opportunities and Threats the external environment – the situation outside the company or organization for example, factors relating to markets, sectors, audience, fashion, seasonality, trends, competition, economics, politics, society, culture, technology, environmental, media, law, etc. factors tend to be in the future
Strengths
  • Great at pushing dents in PDR than others
  • Better quality management than others
  • More efficient at managing income resources
  • Better pricing schemes
  • Better at advertising and marketing
  • I know storm forecasting, stormtrends and climate information about different regions
Weakness
  • Others are well established in the industry
  • Others more experienced and repair vehicles quicker
  • Competitors already have major contracts in insurance

  • Market growing room for more businesses
  • Few customers know about PDR so opportunities exist to educate and less competition
  • Opportunities to work with the media to educate public about PDR / promotion of business
  • Opportunities to gain contacts including assessors

Threats
  • Insurance already allocating national repairer networks
  • Some customers may not trust PDR lack of history some negative media publicity
  • Insurance pressuring prices to fall
  • Weather variability seasonal and between years
  • Little known history and precedence to use as a guide for success
  • Expansion of existing companies and franchises are able to have less outlay for more influence due to brand name
  • Under-cutting in the industry be it in the local region
  • National repairers have support from insurance companies
  • Lack of experience in weather knowledge and hailstorm history
