PDR – Removal and Replace system
To avoid confusion and ensure all processes are in some order, it is ideal to have a system in place. This is specifically to avoid losing parts removed, to place the correct parts in the appropriate position and to report parts that may have been broken requiring ordering and replacement without unnecessary delays.
To avoid confusion, when removing parts place carefully vertically below in the same position. For instance, when taking out the interior roof light, place it directly below as well as screws if required. Work systematically – for instance left and right rear, central and front left and right.
It is extremely important to work cooperatively and gain trust with workers. One key issue, due to ramifications to the contractors is the tendency to hide parts of broken. Gaining trust of contractors to report parts being broken during the repair phase is crucial. Otherwise, it can become extremely uncomfortable and also detrimental to the company’s reliability if customers find the broken parts later.

- If parts break, fix it or attend to it immediately eg glue broken plastic parts or order them and be open to the customer about perhaps the brittle nature or difficulty to get access.
- If not fixed or repairable, record or report the part for ordering and replacement
