PDR – Model Characteristics
Although the main focus of PDR companies or businesses are to set up in a hail affected region to repair dents, depending on the members and organisational structure, there are varying responsibilities allocated to undertake the vital roles.
Sole Trader or Partnership Model
Due to the mobile nature of paintless dent repair, this model has its merits. Given the flexibility required, it is a fairly straight forward model to operate and set up quickly. Generally, one or more technicians often work in partnership sharing their responsibilities. Suffice to say, this most likely forms a large majority of the PDR entities that exist across Australia. Some partnerships that have been in the industry for up to 20 years have definitely become well established with significant turn overs.
The roles of a paintless dent repair partnership model
Generally from the perspective where a partnership between PDR Technicians is concerned, all tasks from gathering clients and setting up the business to all aspects of the paintless dent repair are shared between the technicians. Usually, this model is relatively simple and can involve short-term rapid setup and repair. Advantages include being able to directly control the quotation of the work capable of being undertaken by the team of technicians.
Typically, partnerships should attempt to balance the workload based on an equal gain of the profits and responsibilities. Partners may allocate work based on strengths – for instance one member may be more proficient in estimating dents, quotations and administration matters whereas another may simply want to concentrate on repairing the dents.
The roles of paintless dent repair companies
The advantages of a very well structured and managed company model are of a well organised workplace building an excellent reputation through an excellent quality control system. Ultimately, companies that are able to combine a good pricing structure with excellent quality will succeed in satisfying both customers and insurance companies. Such a well-managed and professional structure tends to be more successful in attracting major clients and insurance contracts.

- Business setup
- Managing their client base
- Allocating work and managing their technicians
