Depth of dents caused by impact such as hail. The depth is one measure of the severity of the hail dents – measured or estimated as the depth from the normal panel surface – the deeper dents are more severe. This is affects quotations and is accepted in the industry to charge higher pricing for increasing dent depth usually denoted as S (Shallow), M (Medium), D (Deep), and E (Extreme).
